Our team currently has a fleet of twelve 420's that we sail at the Rez Lakefront Park & Retreat Center. "The Rez" is a 73-acre facility, with 10 active acres, located on beautiful Lake Bradford, four miles from the Florida State University campus. Currently we compete in the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association aka SAISA. We race against schools from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.
Since being founded in 1963, FSU sailing has had a long history of success on the national and regional levels. Since being reformed in 2012, we have been constantly improving, going from field fillers, to conference title contenders. In 2021-22 the Seminoles returned back to action from the COVID off-season to finish 4th in the SAISA Spring Fleet Race Championships. This effort was rewarded with a bid to the College Sailing Eastern Semifinals, where the team finished a 13th, our highest finish in the TechScore era. For 2022-23 the Seminoles became a Cross-Regional team, and finished a program best 3rd, in both SAISA Spring Fleet Race and SAISA Team Race Championships. The team once again had a record setting nationals, finishing the semifinals in 12th.

We practice Thursday and Friday (Friday only during the winter), as well as occasional weekend practice sessions.
While prior racing experience is preferred, anyone who knows the fundamentals of sailing is welcome to join.
Being a club team means we are not allowed to provide scholarships, and don't receive funding directly from the athletic department. However, we do still receive ample funding and support through FSU Sports Clubs. For more information on FSU Sports Clubs, visit them on Instagram @fsusportsclubs.
Being a cross regional team is the highest classification in college sailing, and it allows us to compete in top inter-conference regattas all over the United States.
Like most club teams in college sailing, we are student-led, meaning we do not have a full time coach. However, during breaks from school, we often travel as a team to have practices with coaching.
